Qiu Jian was a military general of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history.

Qiu was a very close and trusted friend of Zhong Hui. He formerly served under Hu Lie. Qiu followed in informing Hu Yuan (son of Hu Lie) of the crisis when Zhong had confined Hu Lie and many others in order to carry out a rebellion. The former Shu Han general Jiang Wei encouraged Zhong to slay his soldiers because he believed that they would not truly assist in his cause because they were being controlled through fear. Jiang attempted in this rebellion to greatly weaken the force of Zhong and restore the fallen state of Shu Han through the future lack of power in Zhong. In which what was said above, it ended up backfiring, taking both the lives of Zhong and Jiang.
