Rajam is a town in Srikakulam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a nagar panchayat and the headquarters of Rajam mandal.[3]
Geography
Rajam is located at 18.28N 83.40E.[4] It has an average elevation of 42 meters (137 feet).
Demographics
As of 2011[update] India census,[5] Rajam had a population of 42,197. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Rajam has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%:[citation needed] male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 58%. In Rajam, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
