Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is a major business segment of US defense conglomerate Raytheon. Headquartered in McKinney, Texas, SAS has a total employment of 12,000 and 2010 sales of US$ 4.8 billion. Rick Yuse is the segment's President. Yuse succeeded Jon Jones who died in March 2010.[1][2]
Key SAS capabilities include:
- Airborne radars and processors
- Electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensors
- Electronic warfare (EW) and precision guidance systems
- Active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars
- Space and missile defense technology
- Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems
SAS has significant engineering and manufacturing facilities in El Segundo and in McKinney, Texas; an electronic warfare center in Goleta, California; and a consolidated manufacturing facility in Forest, Mississippi.
SAS is a subcontractor in the development program for the next-generation airborne radar system, the Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program or MP-RTIP.
