Richard Daddy Owubokiri (born 16 July 1961 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State), commonly known as Ricky, is a Nigerian retired footballer who played as a striker.

Football career

After starting his career in his native country, Ricky played four seasons in Brazil, then had a spell in France with Stade Lavallois and FC Metz. In the first country he played for America Football Club (RJ) and Esporte Clube Vitória, a club he would return to in 1994 in the Brazilian top division;[1] in December 1988 he moved to S.L. Benfica, but appeared very rarely with the team officially.

Still in Portugal, Ricky played two seasons with C.F. Estrela da Amadora, also in Lisbon, then moved north to Boavista FC, at already 30. His impact was instant, helping the side finish third in his first season with the addition of the Portuguese Cup, as the player netted 30 times in the league, good enough for the top scorer accolade.

Ricky retired in 1997 at the age of 36, after one-year stints with C.F. Os Belenenses, Al-Arabi Sports Club and Al-Hilal FC. For Nigeria he was picked for the 1992 African Cup of Nations, but missed narrowly at the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
