Major Richard Grünert (8 October 1899 - 13 March 1943) was a German officer of the 7th Panzer Division during the Second World War who was killed in March 1943 while on operations within the Soviet Union. For his actions he was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves in a ceremony later that year on May 17.[1]
