At Eurovision

On the night of the final Mălina performed 15th in the running order, following Portugal and preceding United Kingdom. At the close of the televoting it had received only 6 points (all came from Israel), placing Romania 22nd of the 25 entries. The 12 points from the Romanian jury went to United Kingdom (who finished 2nd). Having had to sit out the 1997 contest due to relegation, Romania were again demoted on the cumulative countback rule and would not take part in 1999.
