Ronco Canavese is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 353 and an area of 96.7 square kilometres (37.3 sq mi).[1]

Ronco is at the center Valle Soana, the valley is called "fantastic" not only for its natural beauty, but also for the typical characteristics of ethnicity, including dialect, customs, traditions, local products throughout the valley. Ronco is situated on the left bank of the river, in a picturesque valley surrounded by dense forests.[2]

Ronco Canavese borders the following municipalities: Cogne, Valprato Soana, Traversella, Locana, Ingria, Ribordone, Pont-Canavese, Convento, Bosco, and Sparone.

Ronco Canavese and surrounding villages fell victom to floods as the Valle Soana river burst its banks, The Vaults of Roncos primary (and only) bank were washed away, as well as the petrol station situated on the right as you enter the town. Since then the local government has reinforced the rivers banks to ensure the same does not happen again.

French is widely spoken in the town and neighbouring villages as many Parisians have holiday homes in Ronco Canavese and surrounding villages. The majority of tourists arrive in July and August to celebrate the festivities.
