The Südtiroler Volksbank – Banca Popolare dell'Alto Adige (marketed as Volksbank or Banca Popolare) is an Italian cooperative bank headquartered in Bolzano. It was established in 1992 through the merger of two cooperative banks, Volksbank Bozen – Banca Popolare di Bolzano from Bolzano and Volksbank Brixen – Banca Popolare di Bressanone from Brixen. In 1995 it acquired the cooperative bank Volksbank Meran – Banca Popolare di Merano headquartered in Merano. The bank's primary markets are the two autonomous provinces of South Tyrol (63 branches) and Trentino (20 branches). In recent years it has been aggressively expanding into the neighboring Veneto region with now 50 branches in 4 provinces. The bank plans to expand its operations also to the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.[1]

In January 2015 the bank announced the plan to absorb Banca Popolare di Marostica.[2]
