The SABIA-Mar (or SAC-E) satellite, scheduled for launch in 2017, is a Brazilian - Argentine Earth observation satellite. It focuses on monitoring of ocean surfaces,[1][2]especially studies of the ocean ecosystem, the carbon cycle, marine habitats, and mapping. The satellite is part of the cooperation of the National Commission on Space Activities and National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and will be operating until 2021.

The first objective of the mission is to collect data and provide water and food production, high spectrum, geometric and temporal resolution over the area of Mercosul.
