Sa Kabila ng Lahat (In Spite of Everything) is a 1990 Filipino film directed by filmmaker Lino Brocka. It stars Dina Bonnevie and Tonton Gutierrez. This is the last film made by Brocka before he was killed in a car accident.[1]

Synopsis

Bonnevie is a famous television commentator whose work is focused on political issues, particularly corruption in the government. However, because she was having an affair with a politician who was helping further her career, she turned a blind eye to her own evil deeds. But she would not remain unconcerned.

The sad plight of a syndicate moll (played by Nanette Medved) the commitment to the truth of her close friend (played by Tonton Gutierrez), and other events force her to take a look at her own values.

Awards

The film was awarded Best Picture and Best Director by the Young Critics Circle and the Philippine Movie Press Club.[2]
