The Santa Monica Observer is a free weekly newspaper founded in Santa Monica, California in 1998 by David Ganezer http://www.smobserver.com. It is one of only two newspapers of general circulation in Santa Monica, as defined by California Government Code Section 6008. The Santa Monica Observer is the most widely read weekly publication in Santa Monica.[citation needed] The Santa Monica Observer Newspaper has a circulation of 20,000 and a readership of 38,300.[citation needed]
