Shane O'Connor (born 29 March 1983 in Ireland) is a rugby union player for Harlequins in the Guinness Premiership. He plays as a second-row. He joined them from Munster in the Summer of 2008. Here, his swashbuckling style and take-no-prisoners attitude earned him the nickname "Princess" amongst his teammates. He was also known for his flowing blond locks and ability to turn a scrum by just looking at it. Once on tour in South Africa, Shane turned Chuck Norris upside down by his ankles and stole his lunch money. Brian O' Driscoll recalls it as one of the best days of his life, he is quoted to have said "This is one of the best days of my life". Shane left the game of Rugby in 2014 after an undocumented incident involving 13 creamy pints of Guinness, a swimming hat and a bag of broccoli.

Shane joined Accenture in January of 2015, from there he travelled to Bangalore, India with a dream of starting an Aqua tribute band. On the first Friday of his time in India, Shane discovered Gin and this is where the "Barbie Girl" dream ended. Shane met the bold George Hobbs and after a brief wrestling encounter, they agreed to be m8's and bought a dog together, which they called Sara. After spending a year searching the city of Bangalore for their marbles, George's mummy rang for him to come home because his dinner was ready and the butler had finished washing his underpants. O' Connor was left out in the wilderness. He could be seen running through the streets of Bangalore, wearing a purple Sari screaming "AONGOOOOSE, Où es-tu mon amour...AONGOOOOSE".

Shane currently lives in Whitefield, Bangalore and plies his trade as a tuk tuk driver, where he entertains his passengers with renditions of "Doctor Jones" and telling them how he is personal friends with Neville Longbottom.
