Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Shikarpur (शिकारपुर) is a town in Muzaffarnagar District, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated on the right bank of the Hindon River , with a railway station, 30 km south east of the district capital Muzaffarnagar.

Shikarpur had always been an important place, having a fort and a mosque built by the Mughal Emperor Humayun. The fort was later purchased by Pandit Jai Dayal Singh, a Hindu Brahmin. The heirs of Late Pandit Jai Dayal Singh, built a temple adjoining to the fort boundary. The fort is also houses five Sati and a Satta. It has a large area under cultivation. An NGO has recently[when?] opened a primary school in the fort.
