Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. The Siege of Dara occurred in 573, during the Byzantine–Sasanian War of 572–591. The siege lasted 4 months and ended with the city's fall to the Sasanian Persians. The news of the fall of Dara, long a major Byzantine stronghold in Upper Mesopotamia, reportedly drove Emperor Justin II insane.
