Sing is an upcoming American computer-animated musical comedy film directed and written by Garth Jennings, and produced by Illumination Entertainment.[2] The film stars the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Tori Kelly, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton, and Scarlett Johansson. Universal Pictures has scheduled it for release on December 21, 2016.

Plot
To save his theater from closing down, Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) holds a singing contest to raise money for it and the entire town auditions for a part in the show.
Cast
- Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an optimistic koala who plans to save his theater by announcing a singing competition.[2][3]
- Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, a domestic pig who gave up her teenage music dreams to become a devoted mother to 25 piglets.[3]
- Seth MacFarlane as Mike, a little white mouse with a big Frank Sinatra-esque voice and arrogant attitude.[3]
- Tori Kelly as Meena, a teenage African elephant with an exquisite voice and severe stage fright.[3]
- John C. Reilly as Eddie, a black sheep and Buster's best friend.[3][4]
- Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young mountain gorilla who wants to sing but his gangster father wants him to follow in the family’s criminal footsteps.[3]
- Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a crested porcupine who heads up an alternative-rock band with her boyfriend.[3]
Other confirmed cast members whose roles have not yet been confirmed are Nick Kroll,[5] Nick Offerman,[5] Leslie Jones,[5] Jennifer Saunders,[5][6] Peter Serafinowicz[5] Jay Pharoah,[5] and Beck Bennett.[5]
Release
Universal Studios scheduled the film to be released on December 21, 2016.[7] It will release internationally in early 2017.
