St. Finbarr's Hospital is a public hospital on the South Douglas Road, Cork City, Ireland. It is the main blood donation centre in Cork City. It was also the main maternity hospital in cork, but the Cork University Maternity Hospital has since taken on maternity duties.

The hospital was originally the Workhouse for Cork city, constructed by the Poor Law Guardians in 1841; the architect was George Wilkinson, who was architect to the Poor Law Commissioners in Ireland from 1839 until 1855.[1]

After a number of extensions to the Workhouse, its name was changed to the Cork District Hospital in 1898. It later became the Cork County Home and Hospital.[2][3] In 1923 it was designated by ministerial order as responsible for the treatment of Medical, Surgical and Maternity cases, and cases of infectious and contagious diseases.[4]
