History

Chairman of the Board Phillip E. Lantz founded the company in 1972 with three employees. Today, SPA is a $100M a year company with more than 400 people providing decision support to national security leaders. In January 2014, Retired Navy Admiral Kirk Donald became President and CEO.

SPA was founded on work primarily with the U.S. Navy, leading major technical support programs for the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). Mr. Lantz oversaw the development and employment of powerful analytic tools which supported studies for SSP over a period of decades and led to numerous major decisions involving the Trident Weapons Systems.
