TVI 24 is a private Portuguese basic cable and satellite television news channel owned by TVI, launched on 26 February 2009.[1]

History

TVI 24 has been on the plans for several years, but plans for it officially commenced in 2008. It was initially expected to launch on February 20th, 2009, TVI's anniversary, but weeks before the launch, it was postponed to February 26th, because they wanted to focus more on TVI's anniversary instead.
