Takis Koroneos

Panagiotis "Takis" Koroneos (Greek Παναγιώτης "Τάκης" Κορωναίος:) (born October 8, 1952) is a retired Greek professional basketball player and a professional basketball coach. He is also a former member of the senior men's Greek national basketball team.

Playing career

Koroneos had a long career winning many titles with Panathinaikos, with whom he won 11 Greek League championships and 3 Greek Cups. He also played with PAOK and Panionios.

Greek national team

Koroneos played with the senior men's Greek national basketball team in 150 games, recording a total of 1,832 points.[1] His first game with Greece's national team was played on June 25, 1975, against the Bulgarian national basketball team, during the Balkans Cup. His last game with Greece's national team was played on October 29, 1981, against the Polish national basketball team, in a friendly game.

Koroneos won gold medals at both the 1979 Mediterranean Games and the 1979 Balkans Cup. He also played at the EuroBasket 1975, the EuroBasket 1979, and the EuroBasket 1981.

Coaching career

Koroneos has been the head coach of Maroussi, Dafni, Near East, and Keravnos.
