The Sussex Bus[1] is a bus company based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex operating bus services in East Sussex and West Sussex as a subsidiary of Heritage Coaches. The company was formed after Countryliner went into administration. It is a subsidiary of Heritage Coaches.[2]

History

Services commenced at short notice on 9 October 2012 after Countryliner went into administration the day before and took over their West Sussex operations with a subsidy from the local authority on some of the routes.[3]

On 1 September 2014, Sussex Bus commenced operating services in Crawley branded as Crawley Reds.[4] In March 2015 it operated 16 routes.[5]

Bus fires

The Sussex Bus had two bus fires in 2013, first in March [6] and the second in September.[7]

Fleet

In May 2015 there were twenty eight buses in the fleet.[8]
