Tyndale House is an independent biblical studies library with a Christian foundation. Founded in 1944, it aims to provide specialist resources in support of research into the Old Testament, New Testament and relevant historical backgrounds.[1]

Description

Tyndale House is a residential centre for biblical studies in Cambridge. As such, it has many readers who are doctoral students from the University of Cambridge studying either in the Faculty of Divinity or the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. In addition, Tyndale House also houses students and scholars from around the world working at postgraduate level. Scholars who have spent time at Tyndale House include John Stott, D. A. Carson, Wayne Grudem, J. I. Packer and John Piper.

The academic society associated with Tyndale House is the Tyndale Fellowship, an international fellowship of Christians who are engaged in biblical and theological research. The Tyndale Bulletin is the journal of Tyndale House and of the Tyndale Fellowship, and is published twice a year.

Kirby Laing Institute for Christian Ethics

The Kirby Laing Institute for Christian Ethics (KLICE) is an independent evangelical organisation that promotes the study and understanding of Christian ethics, both in research and in public discourse. KLICE was founded in 2006, and is based at Tyndale House, supported by the Kirby Laing Foundation (established by John Laing).

KLICE's activities include research, publication, collaborative projects, and running conferences and seminars. KLICE states that its vision is "to contribute a Christian perspective to public debates about ethics in the UK."

Three times a year KLICE publishes articles on various ethical subjects under the name Ethics in Brief.[2]

KLICE's first Director, Jonathan Chaplin, was appointed in September 2006.[3]
