The Siberian Elm cultivar Ulmus pumila 'Dropmore' [1] was grown from seed collected by F. L. Skinner, of Dropmore, Manitoba, in Harbin, China.
Description
'Dropmore' is a fast-growing bushy form producing small leaves.

Cultivation
The tree remains in commercial cultivation in the USA. Considered cold-hardy well into Canada [2], it did not perform well in the hot, arid, climate of Holbrook as part of the elm trials in conducted by the Northern Arizona University [3]. One specimen was planted in the UK circa 1960, and remains in good health (2008).
