Valentina Scaglia (born 2 July 1979) is an Italian dancer. She is currently dancing at the Dutch contemporary dance company Nederlands Dans Theater in The Hague.

Biography

Her professional dancer career began at the Hamburg Ballet, (1997–2000). In 2001 she joined Nederlands Dans Theater II (2001–2004), and since 2004 danced at Nederlands Dans Theater I.[1]

She is the winner of the Prix Espoir, Prix de Lausanne,[2] 1995, and in 2008 she was nominated for the prestigious Zwaan award.

She is regularly giving classes and workshops, most recently at the Dance Arts Faculty (Centro D.A.F) in Rome and in the Netherlands at Summerschool Den Haag directed by Mirella Simoncini.

Personal

Valentina is the sister of the professional footballer Massimiliano Scaglia, and married Slovak choreographer Lukáš Timulak.
