Visa policy of Kazakhstan

Visitors to Kazakhstan must obtain a visa from one of the Kazakhstani diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.

Visa free entry

Visa is not required for citizens of following 16 countries/territories:[1][2]

1 – up to 90 days
2 – up to 30 days
3 – up to 14 days

Visa-free regime was signed with  Ecuador in September 2013 and has yet to be ratified.[3]

No-visa pilot program

Citizens of the following countries do not require a visa for stays up to 15 days as part of a no-visa pilot program for countries with the highest investment in Kazakhstan economy. The program was initially started on 15 July 2014 providing unilateral visa free access to 10 countries and in July 2015 it was further extended to a total of 19 countries. These countries are:

On 20 May 2015 President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree that will allow visa exemption for up to 30 days for citizens of OECD member states, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.[4]

Work on visa-free regime is expected to finish in 2017.[5]

Non-ordinary passports

Only holders of diplomatic passports of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Vatican City and only holders of both diplomatic and service/official passports of Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Israel, Macedonia, Mexico, Romania, Slovakia and South Korea can visit Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 90 days. Only holders of diplomatic passports of Egypt and Poland and only holders of both diplomatic and service/official passports of Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Cuba, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Pakistan, Philippines, Turkmenistan and Vietnam can visit Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 30 days.
