"Walk" is a song by American heavy metal band Pantera from their sixth album Vulgar Display of Power. A live performance of "Walk" is included on Official Live: 101 Proof, and the studio version is also on the band's greatest hits album, The Best of Pantera: Far Beyond the Great Southern Cowboys' Vulgar Hits!

Song information
The riff for "Walk" is played in a time signature of 12/8.[1] Dimebag Darrell played the riff at a soundcheck during the tour for Cowboys from Hell and the rest of the band loved it.[1]
Phil Anselmo said that message of the song was "Take your fucking attitude and take a fuckin' walk with that. Keep that shit away from me".[1] His message was aimed at friends that treated the band differently when they arrived home after touring for Cowboys from Hell.[1] He said "they thought it had gone to our heads, like we've got this rock-star thing embroidered across our faces".[1]
The music video was shot at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago.[1] The cover for the single is a screenshot of the band's "Mouth for War" music video.

The song was released as the fourth and final single for the band's Vulgar Display of Power LP in 1993. The band also released a number of EP's and remixes for the song in 1993 including:
Reception and accolades
The song is considered to be one of the band's best tracks and is also the band's most well known song to both Pantera fans and casual listeners. The song ranked number 16 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs.[2] Guitar World magazine voted the song's solo the 57th greatest of all-time.[3] The song peaked at number 35 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the band's first UK top 40 hit, and number 23 on the U.S. Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles (equivalent to number 123 on the Billboard Hot 100).

The song has been covered by many bands, including Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Seether, Operator, Disturbed, Sevendust and Fear Factory (a snippet of it), and The Portland Cello Project.[4] Sully Erna singer of Godsmack performed the song with Pantera members which is found on their DVD Smack This!. Disturbed and Chester Bennington also teamed up during Ozzfest 2001 to perform this cover.
The band Kilgore recorded a version for the Extreme Championship Wrestling: Extreme Music CD as Rob Van Dam's entrance theme.
Avenged Sevenfold's cover of the song was released as a single to promote their live album Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough. It was released as the first single on the album. However, the song was originally recorded for the band's first DVD, All Excess. It was later included on the album as it was never released on CD. On the live DVD that was included with the album which was recorded at Long Beach Arena, the band performed the song live with a member from the audience (Matteo Valenza, according to the credits of the Live DVD) performing the vocals.
Appearances in the media
"Walk" is featured on the soundtrack for the videogames The Bigs 2, Madden NFL 2010, NHL 11 and as a downloadable track for Rock Band 3.[citation needed] The song was also used as the entrance theme for Rob Van Dam in ECW.[citation needed]
