Wendelien van Oldenborgh (1962) is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Rotterdam.

The experimental cinematic works by Wendelien van Oldenborgh explore social dynamics and behaviours in order to cast attention on repressed, incomplete and unresolved histories. She frequently uses the format of a public film shoot in which she collaborates with participants in different scenarios, to co-produce a script and orientate the work towards its final outcome. These occasions are often set against the backdrop of a unique public location. By enabling multiple perspectives and voices to coexist in the work, she reveals a reality commonly hidden from view, in an attempt to understand familiar stories in a new way. After graduating from Goldsmiths College in London, she worked in Belgium and Germany for many years. In 2014, Van Oldenborgh was awarded the prestigious Dr. A.H. Heineken Prize for Art and lived in Berlin for a year on the DAAD Berliner Künstlerprogramm residency.
