The season 1951–52 of the DDR-Oberliga was contested by 19 teams. BSG Turbine Halle won the championship. Defenders BSG Chemie Leipzig finished third. The last four, ranks 16 to 19, including the promoted club from the previous season BSG Motor Wismar, were relegated.
