Amhi Asu Laadke is a Marathi film released on 14 December 2005.[1] The film is produced by Abhiram Bhadkamkar, Amita Ambekar, Hemant Patil and directed by Abhiram Bhadkamkar. The film portrays a poignant, soul stirring touching human drama of "special children" and a young man’s journey to explore the true meaning of life.[2]

Plot

Shalini Buddhisagar is a highly regarded and successful principal. But her son Abhijeet, an average student, who barely manages to scrape through with a mere 40%, feels dejected and depressed at his dismal performance and tries to end his life. Help comes in the form of his uncle Raghunandan, who takes him to Kolhapur where he attends an art exhibition by mentally retarded children.

Looking at the enthusiasm and the spirit of these mentally challenged children, he soon forgets his own problems, and joins the institution as an art teacher. Here he meets Archana, an MBA graduate who works here as a teacher, for a social cause. It is here he discovers himself and the true value of life.[3]
