Abhirami Anthadhi(Tamil: அபிராமி அந்தாதி,[1] is a collection of poems composed by Abirami Pattar. The 100 poems praise the GoddessAbiraami.[2] .[3][4]

Etymology

The songs come under a class of Tamil poetry called "Andhaathi"(Tamil: அந்தாதி, Tamil pronunciation: [ʌn[t̪]ɑː[d̪]i]).[5] This means, the successive poem should start with the word, that is the ending word of the previous verse. All these 100 songs were apparently written in one night. There is no starting and ending.[6][7] [8]

Verses and Explanation

[9]

Each Pasuram(ode to Gods) of ‘Abirami Anthathi’[10] is generally named by the first few words of the poem. These are given first and a translation into verse given then.
