Abu Dhabi University ADU was established in 2003, after three years of planning by H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other distinguished citizens of the United Arab Emirates.

Accreditation

The university aimed to ensure that all degree programs would be accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research before any students enrolled.[2] The College of Business Administration had received AACSB accreditation in 2015. Some of the College of Engineering programs received accreditation from ABET in 2015 as well. it also got WASC accreditation.

Abu Dhabi Campus

In October 2006, a new campus opened in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. It includes a teaching hospital, prayer rooms, a graduate center and a sports field. There are plans to build a K-12 school with a nursery that will cater to 2,000 students. [4] The construction plan was divided into three phases.[4]
