Dr. jur. Albert Bausch[Note 1] (2 July 1904 – 29 August 1944) was a highly decorated Major of the Reserves in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Albert Bausch died on 29 August 1944 near Piatra Neamţ, Romania

Awards and decorations

Bausch was nominated for the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. The Heerespersonalamt (Army Staff Office) received the nomination on 11 October 1944. The nomination was then forwarded for further processing on 20 October 1944. The decision taken on this nomitiation is undocumented.[1]
