Song |
"Around the World (La La La La La)" is the debut single by German Eurodance group ATC (also known as A Touch of Class). The song is a cover of the Russian hit "Pesenka" (in Russian: Песенка 'A song') (sometimes commonly known as "Pesenka (La La La)" by Ruki Vverh! (in Russian: Руки Вверх!) and uses the melody of Pesenka with added English lyrics. The original Russian hit was written by Ruki Vverh! band members Sergey Zhukov and Aleksey Potehin and appeared in the Russian band's 1998 album Sdelai pogromche! (in Russian: Сделай погромче!).
"Around the World (La La La La La)" was first released as ATC's debut single from their debut album Planet Pop on May 9, 2000 in Europe, and on May 17, 2002 in the United Kingdom. It was produced by German producer Alex Christensen with its melody almost entirely based on "Pesenka". The single reached number one on the German Singles chart in 2000.[1] It also reached number one in Austria and Switzerland, the Top 20 in Australia, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Finland, France, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom. It also reached number 28 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and because of that, it appeared on the 2001 compilation album Now That's What I Call Music! 6.
"Around the World (La La La La La)" was later sampled by local producer Beat Ink in his song concept in early 2008. That version was also used in La La La by Chris Webby in 2009.

Content
During the Video, from the beginning to the end, there's a yellow Melkus RS 1000, which has a blue license plate (numberplate), which contains the text „ATC“. That car has a Gull-wing door. Sometimes, it's drifting or dashing through a Carrera. Sometimes it is also driving through this tunnel.
In between times, you can sometimes see dancing people and various scenes, where the car is involved in. E.g. there is a scene, where girls are outside the car and the boys drive it.
They are dancing in a room, which has a small window (without glass) to view through, and a pool with some water. They are dancing on a small stage, but they are always outside of the water and don't enter the pool.
