Holders of the office of Cathaoirleach (pl. Cathaoirligh), the chairperson of Seanad Éireann, which is the upper house of the Oireachtas, the parliament of the Republic of Ireland

Since the 1937 Constitution, the Cathaoirleach has been an ex officio member of the Council of State. The two chairpersons of the Free State Seanad of 1922–36 (James Campbell, 1st Baron Glenavy and Thomas Westropp Bennett) never served on the Council of State.
