Classical horsemanship is a category designed for placement of the articles on the people and philosophies related to classical dressage and other significant contributors to the teaching and development of the science and philosophy of horsemanship, particularly dressage, though not necessarily only dressage. This category should generally not include any articles on living or recently deceased persons, who could be listed at Category:Dressage trainers, Category:Show jumping trainers or other placement in Category:Equestrians. Individuals who lived during the 20th century should only be added if they produced new techniques or significant written works that contributed significantly to the development of the field in general, those who simply were skilled riders, teachers and trainers should remain in the Dressage trainers category.
