Deaths that occurred in outer space, i.e., at least 100 km above the Earth's surface. There have been a number of such incidents in the history of space flight, in particular 18 astronaut and cosmonaut fatalities, as of 2013.[1][2]There have been some astronaut fatalities during training for space missions, such as the Apollo 1 launch pad fire which killed all three crew members. There have also been some non-astronaut fatalities during spaceflight-related activities.
