Paddie is a former mayor, and city comissioner of Marshall in Harrison County and the current general manager of KMHT radio, for which he hosts a daily talk show.[1] He has never voted to raise taxes while on the city commission. As mayor he worked to make the city fiscally sound during the national recession.[1] He is the former chairman of the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce and president of the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Pines.[1]

Political views

Paddie is considered a fiscal and social conservative Republican.[1] He voted for the pro-life SB5 to ban abortions after twenty weeks and require doctors to be registered at hospitals within thirty miles of their office.[2] Paddie declined to join his East Texas colleagues Bryan Hughes, David Simpson, and Matt Schaefer in signing a Texas Values letter to the Boys Scouts of America asking the organization to maintain the ban on homosexuals.[3]

Personal life

He attends Immanuel Baptist Church in Marshall with his wife and two sons.[3]

On March 18, 2015, Paddie's father, Benny David Paddie of Longview, was arrested for allegedly stalking his former girlfriend.[4]
