Cody Austin Deal (born February 14, 1986) is an American actor in film and television. He is best known for his role as Thor in the Syfy Original Movie Almighty Thor which premiered on Syfy on May 7, 2011 to 1.7 millions viewers. He starred alongside Richard Grieco, Patricia Velasquez, and Kevin Nash.[1]

Biography

Deal grew up a Midwestern farm boy hauling bales of hay on a ranch to help support his family until his senior year in high school. He graduated Valedictorian of his class, as well as Senior Class President, and 1st-Team All-State shooting Forward averaging 20.4 points per game for the Blue Devils' Basketball Team. He dreamt of playing professional sports, but his aspirations were cut short when he injured his hand and forearm in two different sport-related injuries. His aspirations turned to acting, heading to Las Vegas for a brief stint, and working with acting coach Gerald Gordon (who also coached Oscar-winner Adrien Brody). He eventually jumped to Los Angeles to give his career a serious shot, studying acting coaches such as Ivana Chubbuck, Lesly Kahn, Sharon Chatten. and Janet Alhanti. Deal is the son of Diane Boulanger and has a twin brother Kyle and an older brother Lucas. Deal grew up in Sedan, Kansas and is Osage.[2]
