Dawson Stelfox

James Dawson Stelfox MBE is a Northern Ireland architect and chairman of Consarc Design Group. In May 2008, he was elected President of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects.

Education and career

He attended the Royal Belfast Academical Institution and then read architecture at Queen’s University, Belfast, before working as an architect with Consarc. Among the many projects on which he has worked are Parliament Buildings, Stormont;[1] Belfast's Christ Church; the Odyssey Arena; and the Ormeau Gas Works. Several of these projects have been premiated by the RIBA and the Belfast Civic Trust.

Mountaineering

In 1993, he became the first person from Ireland to climb Mount Everest.[1] He is past President and current Board Member of Mountaineering Ireland.
