"Disco Tango" was the Danish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1979. It was performed in Danish by Tommy Seebach.

History

"Disco Tango" was performed third on the night, following Italy's Matia Bazar with "Raggio di luna" and preceding Ireland's Cathal Dunne with "Happy Man". At the close of voting, it had received 76 points, placing 6th in a field of 19.

The song is a description of a girl who dances to disco music by night, but by day listens to Beethoven and does dressage. Reference is also made to John Travolta. The backup singers were Debbie Cameron, Michael Elo and Ianne Elo. All three would return with Seebach in his next Contest offering, "Krøller eller ej."

"Disco Tango" was succeeded as Danish representative at the 1980 contest by Bamses Venner's "Tænker altid på dig".
