The Economic Cycle Research Institute (ECRI) is an independent institute dedicated to economic cycle research, with a mission to "advance the tradition of business cycle research established at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and Center for International Business Cycle Research (CIBCR)."[1] It publishes a [2] weekly index of U.S. Leading Economic Indicators (LEI).

ECRI was founded in 1996[1] by Geoffrey H. Moore. Dr. Moore had been researching the problems of predicting the economic cycle since 1950. In 1958 he developed the composite method which would eventually become the LEI.

ECRI is primarily funded by memberships allowing access to its research service.
