The Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA) is a school of the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. It is the result of the merging of the ECA schools of architecture and landscape architecture, and the university department of architecture, and is part of an academic federation between the two institutions.[1] The school was ranked 5th in the UK in the 2013 Guardian University Guide and 4th in the Complete University Guide, for architecture.

History

ESALA opened in September 2009.

Curriculum

ESALA's curriculum is based on the current programmes of its two components schools, with the aim of satisfying the Architects Registration Board's professional criteria. The MA architecture programme is awaiting RIBA accreditation, while the BA one has recently received the accreditation.[citation needed]
