Eikon is a set of software products provided by Thomson Reuters for financial professionals to monitor and analyse financial information. It provides access to real time market data, news, fundamental data, analytics, trading and messaging tools.

The main product runs on Windows and lets user compose customized views on multiple screens. It also extends Microsoft Office with data retrieval addins. Eikon subscribers can access Eikon data from their smartphones,[1][2] iPad, or from a Web browser.[3]

History

Eikon was launched in 2010 and superseded Reuters earlier platform Reuters 3000 Xtra.

Pricing

End of 2013, an Eikon subscription was reported to cost from $300 to $1,800 per month, the average setup being around $800 per month.[4]

Competitors

Lua error in Module:Details at line 30: attempt to call field '_formatLink' (a nil value). The largest competitor to Thomson Reuters Eikon is Bloomberg L.P. with its Bloomberg Terminal. In 2013 Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg market share was estimated to respectively 27% and 32%.[5]
