Everton in the Community (EitC) is a sporting charity with multisport and other social activities. Created as a community department of Everton Football Club in 1988. Operates in area of Merseyside.[1] The olympic and paralympic sport activities including mainly badminton, volleyball, table tennis and judo.[2]

Everton in the Community performs a successful work in sports. EitC implements an important programme about football players with disabilities. Thirty athlets of EitC took place in international events, while two athlets participate at 2012 Paralympic Games as part of the British team, on behalf of Everton.[3]

The important social activities of the EitC, gives Everton F.C. the right by the British government to establishment of Everton in the Community Free School,[1] and the school operating since 2012.[4] In 2013, EitC awarded with Best Football Community Scheme at the Football Business Awards.[5] Even, the successes for EitC include a Big Society Award for their activities about employment, education and health.[3]

Also, Everton in the Community represents the Everton F.C.[6] as their community department,[7] to the European Multisport Club Association.[8]

Participants

Participants includes English actress Judi Dench, which become honorary patron of Everton in the Community on 2012.[9] Also, Andy Nicholls, an English manager and author, come back to the Goodison Park, after his ban for hooliganism,[10] because he actively participated in the actions of Everton in the Community.[11]

Athlets

Considerable recognition for the Everton in the Community, was the participation of two athletes as part of the British team, at 2012 Paralympic Games held in London. Was Roy Turnham, a football 5-a-side player, included in Great Britain national football 5-a-side team squad and George Fletcher a football 7-a-side player, participated with the Great Britain national football 7-a-side team,[12] who helped the national team to finish in seventh place in total scoring three goals.
