Fall River Heritage State Park is a state-owned, history-oriented, public recreation area encompassing 14 acres (5.7 ha) on the Taunton River in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA. The state park sits next to the Charles M. Braga Jr. Memorial Bridge and across from Battleship Cove, the home of the World War II battleship, the USS Massachusetts. The park is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.[2]

Activities and amenities

The park offers a visitors center, a 0.75-mile-long (1.21 km), wheelchair-accessible boardwalk,[3] and a 3-acre (1.2 ha) meadow used for picnicking, concerts, and arts & crafts fairs.[2] It was formerly the location of Fall River Celebrates America, the longstanding festival which saw its demise in 2010.[4] Located adjacent to the park are an antique carousel relocated from Lincoln Park and the Battleship Cove Community Boating Program, a non-profit sailing school operated by the USS Massachusetts Memorial Committee.[5] Nearby along the waterfront are the Old Colony & Fall River Railroad Museum, the Marine Museum at Fall River, and the Narrows Center for the Arts.
