Summary

Map showing Appalachian Regional Commission economic status designations in southeastern Ohio. The ARC gives each county one of five designations: "Distressed," "At-Risk," "Transitional," "Competitive," and "Attainment," with Distressed being the most economically troubled and Attainment indicating the most prosperous. The designations are based upon three primary factors: unemployment, income per capita, and poverty rate, as compared to the national averages. The designations are based on 2012 data.
