Summary

<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_analysis" class="extiw" title="en:Cluster analysis">Cluster analysis</a> performed on an artificial dataset ("Mouse", similar to a well-known comic figure) comparing <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-means_clustering" class="extiw" title="en:K-means clustering">k means</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expectation-maximization_algorithm" class="extiw" title="en:Expectation-maximization algorithm">EM</a> clustering results.

The tendency of k-Means to produce clusters of the same extends produces bad results, while the Gaussian nature of the data is well recognized by EM.
