Summary

Durga idol at a puja pandal in Siliguri, West Bengal. On the last day of the festivity (Dashami) women offer flowers, vermilion and sweetmeats to the deity as homage and as parting token. They then share this amongst other women and devotees. Married women apply this vermilion to their forehead as a sign of prosperity.
