Summary
Earth's Gravity according to the Preliminary Reference Earth Model (PREM). The acceleration has its maximum at 3480 km and a value of 10.68 m/s²
The other curves show:
- An approximated Earth, where the density decreases linearly from center to surface. In this model, the density at the center is the same as in the PREM, but the surface density is chosen in such a way that the mass of the resulting sphere equals the mass of the Earth.
- An idealized Earth with constant density (naturally, Earth's average density was used for this).
