Summary

Finnish Air Force issued an order to subdue the white background of the insignia in January 1944. Order called for using grey paint, but VL (the Finnish State Aircraft factory) used the closest colour shade available, the colour called DN-väri. DN-väri was used for painting the undersides of the aircraft and it is the colour FS15414 according to the book "Sotamaalaus, Suomen ilmavoimien historia 23" by Kalevi Keskinen and Kari Stenman (<a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:BookSources/9519875166" class="internal mw-magiclink-isbn">ISBN 951-98751-6-6</a>)
