A replica of HAL 9000 (Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer) that was featured in Arthur C. Clarke's Space Odyssey series. In the film by Stanley Kubrick, 2001: A Space Odyssey, HAL controlled the systems of the Discovery One spacecraft and interacted with the astronauts. On display at the Robot Hall of Fame, inaugural class of 2003, in Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
